So you and the boy you like have decided to meet outside of the college canteen? Well, a coffee date offers the perfect option, since it allows you to get to know each other better without any pressure! I have rounded up my favorite tips to create a simple look—with makeup tricks, hair suggestions and a trendy outfit—that will make you look effortlessly chic for your coffee date.
Ice ice baby – Start off with a few cubes of ice!
Prep your skin by applying an ice cube all over your face before doing your makeup. Doing this minimises the appearance of your pores, improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation. The best way to ice your face would be to wrap ice cubes in a cloth or a few layers of tissue before gliding it over your skin.
It’s all about the base – Pick the right base makeup
Now it’s time to hide those imperfections! You don’t want your makeup to look overdone for a coffee date, so keep your base light by mixing your foundation with your moisturiser or take the easier route and apply a BB cream. Try the Fair and Lovely BB cream with SPF 15, which gives you a matte makeup look with a non-oily feel.

Mane matters – Pay attention to your hair!
You know what looks really stylish? Styled hair that does not look obviously styled. Here is my hair routine, which takes me only 5 minutes to create messy, loose waves that are fun and flirty. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I let it dry naturally until it’s 80% dry. After which I apply a styling product that gives structure and hold and scrunch my hair like there is no tomorrow! After months of research and evaluation, I have noticed that I get the best wavy hairdo if I avoid combing my hair after shampooing. Trust me, this works every time!
The eyes say it all – Don’t forget to focus on your eyes
Apply neutral eyeshadow to your eyelids and a shimmery eyeshadow to the inner corner of your eyes and brow bone. Now, with the help of an angular brush, line your eyes lightly with brown or black eye shadow. As we are going for a natural look, let your lashes do the talking! Enhance your upper and lower lashes with multiple coats of mascara.
The little things – What to wear?
Do not dress to impress, but dress for a date by wearing exactly what you would feel comfortable in. I suggest you wear comfortable shoes, preferably wedges, just in case you decide to extend your coffee date by going for a walk afterwards or for a movie! Pair wedges with a simple pair of dressy shorts and a feminine, flirty tee and you’re good to go!
So dress well, take care of your makeup and hair and don’t forget to enjoy yourself girls!
